YOU GUYS. I DID A THING.
I got LASIK yesterday – a scary thing for someone as anxious as I am.
I remember learning about LASIK back in the late 90s/early 2000s when my aunt got it done. “You go blind for a moment, you know!’ my mom mentioned as she told me. Those words haunted me (totally not true, btw!) but I HATED glasses when I was in school. Once I was old enough to get the surgery, I always dug my heels from fear. I am not a huge fan of things near my eyes so the whole process sounded incredible scary but I have to report that it wasn’t bad or scary at all! The whole process with the laser takes only a few minutes each eye and each stage moves at a very fast pace so you don’t even have time to freak out.
I woke up today, put my various eye drops in, and I CAN SEE. I wore nonprescription sunglasses for the first time EVER while driving back to the eye doctor this morning AND I have 20/20 vision in each eye. I am beyond ecstatic to begin this new glasses-less adventure.
